When Showtime came to Sean Daly with the commission for The First Lady, the brief was deceptively simple: recreate, at full scale, the art collection that First Lady Michelle Obama assembled when she and her family moved into the People's House. In practice, it was one of the most demanding and quietly complex art projects of Sean's career.
